Gather as much info about the event you are considering, you could try the following:

Request the info on last years event from the organiser, or try the event website.

You can usually find an exhibitors list for the previous years event, giving you an idea of other likely exhibitors including any competitors.

Don't be afraid to ask past exhibitors or attendees for a review of the event, and most importantly if it met their needs as a supplier/consumer.

Speak to the organisers to find out how they're going to promote the show and if they can help you with promoting your presence at the event.

Attending an exhibition because you feel you should is a common mistake, and not a wise business decision.
