The budget is going to be the biggest factor in deciding how much space you require.
Some companies will book space in relation to how big they perceive themselves in the market, while others will book just enough to showcase a range of products.

It is important to remember the floor space budget is proportionate to the rest of your budget - the more you spend on booking the space, the less you have to spend on promotion, graphics, the stand, etc.
