Exhibition Stand Planning Tip:
No.2 - Which Exhibition
The available stand space will depend on how early you decide to book.
Generally, the most desirable space is sold up to a year in advance of the event.
However, late bookings aren't always bad; a good deal can be had on a late booking, although sometimes to the detriment of your position.
Exhibitors are often tempted by the space next to the entrance of an event, due to the prominent position & high volume of traffic. Sometimes, there are better options; corner stands promote openness, giving visitors easier access to your stand. Other appealing sites include busy areas such as refreshment points, cafes and seating areas.
Make sure you're aware of any obstacles that impact on your space. Columns or pillars can restrict your display area as well as impose restrictions on your exhibition stand brief, such as display height. With regard to space only stands, the normal maximum height is 4m. Certain venue's will allow higher exhibits, check with organisers first though.
The shell scheme option is one provided by the majority of event organisers as a budget alternative to space only exhibiting.
Usually for an increased price per square metre, the organiser will furnish the exhibitor with a backwall of 1, 2 or 3 sides in plain white panels plus standard carpet tiles and a fascia header with printed company header. The shell scheme option can be a good one for first time exhibitors or exhibitors on a low budget.
The space only option provides a bigger platform to exhibit as well as an opportunity to be more creative on the smaller stand sizes. When booking space only, you are required to provide to provide everything from the floor up!
The majority of organisers price all exhibition space (shell scheme and space only) on a £ per square metre basis. |
