Take the time to examine your exhibition programme in detail. Ask yourself why you are attending the shows you are. Do they fit into your marketing strategy? Are you going out of habit or is there a real marketing need? Make sure your actions are productive and not just what you have always done.

Attending a show just because it is 'nice to be at' is a waste of time, energy and money. Opt for shows that attract your target market and set your goals accordingly.

Another weak link is employee spending at shows. Just because the boss is paying staff eat at the most expensive restaurants and order high priced items. To help control this, set up a daily staff allowance and make staff accountable for their expenditure.
